Today is Matt's birthday. He is the exact opposite of me and hates all the attention a birthday can bring. Not sure what is wrong with him, but if you see him on the street be sure to tell him "Happy Birthday!" He will love me for it.Matt is not much of a cake guy, so he requested pie. Being the loving wife that I am I agreed to give it a shot. Matt gave me a cookbook titled, "Sweety Pies" for Christmas, so finding a good recipe wasn't a problem. The problem would be if it came out looking nothing like the picture in the book. I figured worse case scenario if it didn't work out there was always Marie Callendar's. I am happy to report that it DID work out. I made my first ever strawberry-rhubarb pie, with a homemade crust to boot. No back up plan necessary. Matt has even requested I make it again. Definitely a good sign.

I made Steve a baskin-robbins style ice cream cake for his b-day this year. It was a big hit.
